Job Description

As a Senior Planner, you will be responsible for the efficient planning and coordination of groupage transports within Europe. You ensure optimal use of the available capacity and take into account customer expectations, legislation and economic factors. Thanks to your extensive experience and knowledge of transport legislation and the EU Mobility Package, you will contribute to the smooth and compliant execution of our operations.

Responsabilities
  • Planning and follow-up of groupage transports within Europe, with a focus on efficiency and compliance with regulations.
  • Ensuring optimal load factor and cost control.
  • Coordinating with drivers, subcontractors and customers to ensure timely and correct delivery.
  • Applying and monitoring transport legislation, including the EU Mobility Package and driving and rest times.
  • Monitoring and proactively solving operational problems and unexpected situations.
  • Working closely with customer service, sales and operations to align customer needs and internal objectives.
  • Thinking along about process optimizations and contributing to continuous improvement of the operations department.
JOB RELATED COMPETENCIES
  • At least 5 years' experience in transport planning, preferably within part transport.
  • Extensive knowledge of international transport legislation and the EU Mobility Package.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and stress resistance.
  • Experience with transport management systems (TMS) and route optimisation software.
  • Good knowledge of Dutch, French and English. Knowledge of German and/or Spanish is an asset.
Profile
  • As Senior Planner - Dispatcher, you hold a bachelor's degree in a logistics field or equivalent through experience
  • You have a keen interest in the transport sector and are familiar with traffic and transport legislation.
  • You have knowledge of the German and French markets
  • You have strong planning skills and know how to keep a cool head to make the right decisions.
  • You are result- and solution-oriented.
  • You are a good PC user and quickly master new software (preferably knowledge of TAS and TMS)
  • You work with administrative accuracy and have the right communication skills.
  • As a Planner - Dispatcher, you are fluent in Dutch, French, English and German.
PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCIES
  • Compile the road transport file and deliver the documents to customers, drivers, etc.
  • Organising the handling of road freight orders according to customers' orders
  • Drawing up and updating the drivers' daily schedule
  • Monitoring and checking staff activities (driving times, validity of certificates, etc.)
  • Fulfilling administrative and budgetary formalities related to transport (return of route, delivery notes, monitoring of regulations, etc.)
  • Registering complaints
  • Propose solutions to the customer according to the type of incident (breakage, delay, breakdown, ...)
  • Monitoring international transport performance
  • Record the follow-up data of activities
  • Identifying anomalies
  • Monitoring or controlling the execution of transport
  • Identifying and adjusting problems
  • Organising and planning drivers' routes
  • Providing technical support to the drivers in case of breakdown, accident, ... (changing itinerary, travel time, ...)
  • Keeping the data files (drivers, fleet, clients, etc.) up to date
